The overconfidence of a foolish man is what would destroy him" It has been said that the human soul faces one of its greatest test in the moment of victory. In the euphoria of victory, the moment of jubilation emotions run wild, arrogance and overconfidence can push you towards disaster. You must never let success get into your head. One of the indicators on how well you are faring in your season of victory can be found in your relationships. How well are you doing in them. If you are making more enemies than friends with the promotion, elevation or fortune you are bestowed with then you are missing the point. It is true that success would arouse envy among some people. It would make a couple of enemies out of those who once were friends. It is also true that there are some people that suffer from chronic dissatisfaction, people who cannot endure the presence of greater talent nor watch others progress, they are easily aroused to envy and they develop resentment within their hearts but the truth remains that every elevation or promotion is a higher call to stewardship, where the highest priviledge is the opportunities it affords for doing good without giving up one's fortune. It is important to note that as envy is aroused in some, doors are being opened up to you, to increase your network base on the earth. It is this you must focus on and not the petty jealousy in the hearts of some. There would be relationships that would have to be dropped. Things that can no longer work but it must be done in wisdom and in humility while one remains firm and resolute. One must try as much as possible not to arouse unnecessary animosity among people. The place of discernment must be understood. You have entered a cycle of blessings which can be broken by wrong associations. Help, but only develop relationships with people that have the right heart. Be wary of those who constantly want to get your attention and get into your face. Skillfully avoid embittered people, by them the Scripture says many have been defiled. Those that are scornful and speak negatively of others, their environment, their bosses at work, they carry about them an aura that would impact your life negatively. Depart from the presence of a fool when you perceive in him lips void of knowledge. It is your responsibility to protect what you have been given, discernment and not force is the key word in guarding your life. Adam at the beginning was given the garden with the commandment to dress it i.e. to cultivate it and also to guard it from intruders. Whatever blessings you have received from God must be cultivated and guarded. Check the history of those you intend to develop relationships with, those who are coming from unresolved embittered pasts, who hate the people they once loved and cherished ,who speak ill of past employers, associates, relatives, friends etc would only shed your own blood and destroy your cycle. Be hospitable unto them but only receive those who are men of peace. Avoid all forms of wastage. Enjoy yourself but be prudent in your spending. Many stewards have through wastage become the beggars and the diggers of this life. One of the wisest investments you can make is in essential charities. For giving to the poor and helping the less priveledge lengthens your days of prosperity on the earth.
