As can be seen in the case of Daniel, God had not only heard His prayers but He had sent the answer as well. In order for the manifestation to come into the physical, a hindrance had to be overcome in the spirit realm to bring this to pass. The angel sent to accomplish this task explained to Daniel when he brought the answer. ‘And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me and I remained there with the kings of Persia.’ (Dan 10:11-13) Having offered up prayers to God for 21 days, Daniel was informed by the angel that his prayers were answered on the very first day he offered them to God. It should be noted that Daniel stayed in the presence of God while waiting for the answers to his prayers. He did not go running off to attend seminars on ‘Seven Reasons Why God Does Not Answer Prayers’. If he had, he could have opened himself up to strange doctrine that might have led him astray from the path he was already on. As a result of such doctrines, Daniel might have started doubting God’s willingness to grant him his heart’s desires. This would have been a completely erroneous belief because the Scriptures (in Dan 10:12) reveal that God had granted Daniel’s requests from the very first day. Consequently, the latter would have pushed Daniel off course. Therefore, the issue of productivity in a believer’s life often has nothing to do with God’s unwillingness to grant our desires. Rather, it mostly has to do with our inability to manifest God’s answer to these requests. In Mark 11:13-14, 20, Jesus exemplified manifestation based on the confidence that He had heaven’s backing ‘And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. . . And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.’ While explaining the underlying principle of this incident (verses 22-24), He instructed His disciples to have the God kind of faith. In other words, He made it clear that faith was the substance for the manifestation. This substance was what Peter and John manifested when they healed the crippled man at the gate called Beautiful … And a certain man lame from his mothers womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. (Act 3:2-5).
