The Power of Triumphant Faith

Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1vs8-10).

In the above scripture, Paul understood that one could be in faith, walk in love and still miss one major thing which is having their eyes of understanding opened up. This can block a person from reaching its full potential or blessing. Once your eyes are opened you will begin to have practical understanding and enlightening of whatever situation you find yourself. And this will lead you to know exactly what needs to be done to get the right results.

For instance, an individual may feel he is due for promotion in his office, where other people are getting promoted over him. But he believes promotion only comes from God but he is confused as to how to get this scripture fulfilled in his life. This is because his eyes of understanding are yet to be opened up to the reason his promotion is being delayed. For this reason he begins to get bitter by complaining and accusing those getting promotion over him wrongly just because he does not understand why it is not happening to him. The bible says, “God reigns in the affairs of men and he gives the kingdom to whosoever he wills (Daniel 4vs17)”. This means God is the one that decides who gets promoted or blessed.  The bible also says, “The heart of kings are in the hand of the lord and he turns it whichever way He wills (Provb 21vs1)”. So all you need to do is to ask God for insight and direction so that your blessing will not pass you by.

In the case of Nebuchadnezzar, he was a man given to idolatry. But after experiencing the might and wisdom of God he wrote Daniel four (4). There, he spoke about the mercy of God and the things God has done in his life. It was during his seven (7) years wilderness experience he realized that it was God that put him in the position of power. He came to the understanding that God reigns in the affairs of men and He truly gives the kingdom to whosoever he wills (Dan 4vs17). This means that if a person gets promoted God is behind that particular action. You might think the person is not worth it or ought not to be in that particular position.  But there is a reason God allowed that particular promotion to happen and it’s simply to demonstrate certain things to people. We just might be blinded from what God is trying to show or what He is demonstrating to His people or the lessons He wants humanity to learn. One thing is sure; God is always behind those particular things just to show His sovereignty.

If you have believed and you expect certain things to happen in your life, what you need to do now is to go to God in prayer. Ask Him to open the eyes of your understanding so that it can be illuminated to the truth just like Paul asked. This is not just to know the scriptures or to be convinced about it but also for the eyes of your understanding about life to be flooded with light so as to know the steps to take. This is because there might be some little things you are doing that may be leading you towards the wrong direction which you may not know. These are the little things that people will normally overlook and they are the game changers. It is usually not in the big things that people do but in the little things they do.  So you need to make the necessary adjustment.

Therefore, in all we do as believers we must always pray for the eyes of our understanding to be opened up in every issue or situation we are faced with in order to get clarity and direction. This is because that is the only way we can move closer to God’s purpose and plans for our lives.
