The Power of Triumphant Faith

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1: 16-21

The scripture has mentioned “your light affliction will turn into an eternal weight of glory while you look not to the things that are seen”. People often say ‘I just heard a voice’, if you hear a voice you might be right or wrong, about hearing any voice, as you might just have heard your spirit. However, if you do not have scriptures to back whatever you heard; then how will you be able to know the end of the matter, because it is only but a voice that you heard. So This is what Peter was saying in the scriptures that we need a more sure word of prophecy that you would take heed unto. This means if somebody says ‘well, God called me to ministry’, that is, hearing a voice, what are you going to be looking out for that will transform your life into the very thing you believe on the inside. It is important therefore that God shows you something in the scriptures that you can go to everyday. You study this particular scripture very often because this shows the end concerning what God is telling .

The bible says ‘if you ask, God will give you this wisdom and once He has, then you can change your heart from a place within yourself. This can be achieved namely through meditation. Desist from thinking about what bad things might happen, about the pain before the end of the matter. The bible tells us of Moses that because he put a veil over his face, when he came down from the mountain, the children of Israel could not see the end of that which is abolished. Under the old testament, people could not see the end but in the new testament, you can see the end of the matter because God will reveal it to His people. Your business is to take the end of the matter as revealed in the scripture and meditate upon it until light breaks in your mind and you become conscious of it daily. As the scriptures says “if they were mindful of the country from which they came, they would have created an opportunity to return”  We ought not look  at things that can be seen because we are occupied with the things that are not seen; with the knowledge that God has given to us. This is the conversation that should be going on the inside of us. Paul told Timothy “ meditate upon these things that the profiting in it might appear unto all” This means you have to give whatever scripture God has revealed concerning any matter some thoughts. Upon meditation you find what will chart the next course of events and this is what will now occupy both your subconscious and conscious mind. This will mean you are not building any hope on any other thing except that which God has shown you.

When God shows a man the scripture that “strangers will build your walls”, he sees that and knows this is to be the end of the matter so he does not expect anything from an affluent uncle, parents or perhaps friends because he has seen that in the word of God. He saves himself a lot of heart aches. He may ask, strangers will build my wall, how? Paul says if you meditate on the matter long enough  the word will appear which means the ”strangers” will begin to appear within your environment. You may go to the airport and when you are about to board the flight, someone will sit beside you that you have never met and a conversation that will bring about the things you have meditated upon will be birthed and produce what they ought to in your life. God told Joshua, this book of the law must not depart out of your mouth, you need to meditate upon it day and night.
