“And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel. And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian”(Acts 7:22,23,24)
Moses according to the scripture above was a man that was taught in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and he was mighty in words and deeds. But he had the mentality of the world and the world here refers to the Egyptians. This means that his approach to the assignment that God gave to him was fashioned after the wisdom of Egypt because he was taught and nurtured in their ways. Therefore, when the thought or awareness of his assignment came into his consciousness, he went about executing it in the way and manner in which an Egyptian would secure a result.
His intent was good and his feelings for his people were genuine but the way he went about it was wrong. This means that genuinely there was a call in his spirit to actually help in the liberation of his people from the hands of the Egyptians. But then the method he wanted to use in getting it done was the same method he had learnt in Egypt.
A lot of misunderstanding occurs when people do things in the way they see fit and at the end of the day the result of their action causes a lot more harm than good. Which means that the sincere intent in their heart may be misconstrued by the same people they tried to help. The reason for this can be traced to the method and manner they used in securing the result. It might be moral, right or ethical but the question is whether the approach is right in God.
When we speak about legality we are talking about whether it is the legitimate approach of God to an issue. You need to know if it is based on the precepts of the word of God, His methods as contained in His statutes, judgements and in His laws. Giving a practical example , let’s assume there is a family dispute over a land and during that dispute there were some squatters on the land or property. Finally one fraction of the family wins at the supreme court and the land is handed over to them. In the process of taking possession of the land they destroy the property of all the squatters in order for them to vacate the land. Though the land truly belongs to them and they have documents to prove it, the way they have gone about sending the squatters out of the land can be termed as taking the law into their hands. As a result of this action, those squatters can take them to court and say that their property has been destroyed thus, they want compensation. All this could have being avoided if they have attended to the matter in a better way. Thus, the intent may be right but the way and manner of achieving that result could be totally wrong.
Everybody has a dream or even a thought inside their hearts but they must be careful with the way they go about fulfilling it. You need to first begin in the spirit by surrendering those thoughts and dreams to God in prayer. Some begin by telling God about their dreams but spoil it by trying to fulfil it in the flesh. The question now is are you going about that dream or project according to the legal spiritual frame work as ordained by God? If not you need to stop and take the right step that will get you God’s ordained result for that project. As a Christian you need to understand that God Himself is the judge and that you need to take the matter to Him alone. Though you may do it in a way you think is right or best, the results will only prove to you how wrong you are because the ways of a man can never be compared to the ways of God.
