Daniel 4: 25-32 says “that they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field…..Verse 31, “while the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; the kingdom shall depart from thee”. The first rule about dealing with God is to make Him your one and only source – it is very important. The best way to do this is to express it in thanksgiving by giving God all the glory for everything happening around you. Never attribute your progress to your intelligence, skills or knowledge, make sure you give God alone all the glory.
In the kingdom of Babylon, you would feel that God will not be involved with them, yet when Nebuchadnezzar said I built the kingdom by the might of my power, God said to him today the kingdom has departed from you. So, when you are in the midst of men and relating with people about things you have done never attribute the success of where you are to only yourself even if you were the only one that got the job done. Therefore, never say ‘I’, even if it appears so, rather humble yourself before God and give Him all the praise for He is the one who has given you the power both to will and to do. I once heard pastor Adeboye say that the use of the word ‘I’, is only reserved for God. He further went on and said that God is the only one that referred to Himself as ‘I Am’ and nobody else should.
Acts 12 :21-23 says “And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms. Always remember the glory belongs to God and do not touch it. No matter what may be happening around you ensure there is constant gratitude to God for everything going on around you. In doing this you have built an invisible altar before God – meaning a place where you worship God for specific things He has done in your life. In building these altars you have created a way of entry for other blessings to come into your life. This means for every single thing you give God thanks for you have created an altar and entrance for more of God’s blessings into your life and this is guaranteed.
Always give God the glory for everything whether it is going your way or not. He is the source of everything therefore, acknowledge it from the depth of your heart and give Him thanks for it. If you have never done it before when you get back home today take time out to pour out your praise for everything going on in your life to God. Look back at everything, particularly if there has been anyway in which things happened negatively or dried up; pick up those things and just continuously thank God for all those things irrespective of how they affected you negatively or positively. As you continuously give God praise those things you are thanking God for become multiplied.
Remember God inhabits the praises of His people. This means the more you worship and praise the God, the more He remains and dwells with you. Imagine carrying the presence of go around all day every day; that is what it means to be a worshiper. Once you continuously praise God for everything and every outcome irrespective of whether the result is beneficial to you or not; it helps you to know and understand who God the father is to you and helps you to know your place in order to remain humble at all times.
