The Power of Triumphant Faith

The Dynamic Christian walk

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. (Hebrews 5: 12-13)

There is a developmental skill in the use of the word of God. The Bible says “he that keepeth the word, in him verily shall the love of God be perfected’’. This means when you continuously do certain things, with time, they become perfected within you. Therefore, there is a distinction between the two by reason of one’s frequency of the use of the Word and infrequency of the use. The unskillful in the word is a babe but strong meat belongs to them that are of full age (the mature).  It further says that the category of people who frequently interact with the Word and others who just know the Word as written may have the same information but still remain poles apart. This means both types of people may be able to explain the same truths, analyse the same facts as they might have read the same books and can talk in the same way. But it says the mature person will only be able to do this by reason of frequency of use because they have exercised their senses. Therefore, a mature person is skilful in the usage of the word of God or in the faith message over time by reason of use and so he can discern between good and evil.

Understanding the application and practice of faith in order to be able to produce results within your life is very important. It is in the use or practice of it that you develop yourself. Your ability to know what to do when there is a crisis or a challenge is key. For instance you need to know how to speak, when to speak and not speak, and the best time to make declarations.

For instance, when certain people are referred to being an expert in a particular field. It simply means, such a person has understood the theory of the field as well as the art (practice) of it. This analogy is also applicable in the engagement with the word of God. In the walk of faith, there is a theory to understand, and there is also the practice (art) that needs to be mastered. Herein lies the secret to living a dynamic faith-filled Christian life.

As believers, we must make a conscious effort of living a life of faith. The only way we can continuously live by faith is that we are reminded continuously of the truth by our consistent practice of it as often as we interact with the Word through either hearing the word preached or reading the bible.
