The Power of Triumphant Faith

“For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side. And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”(Luke 19vs.43-44).

The phrase ‘time of visitation’ in the above Scripture has two different meanings in Greek. The first is ‘Chronos’ which generally speaks of time as we know it (a.m, p.m, dates etc) The second is ‘Kairos’ which simply means seasons. These two connotations are embedded in the phrase-time of visitation.

It is our duty as Christians to understand and to take advantage of these periods. Kairos comes with opportunities and events divinely programmed. It is not easy to be spotted like the Chronos. We must however seek to understand both so as to take hold of God’s daily blessings in our lives. We must learn to discern Kairos effectively.

When God is set to visit us, He beckons on us through the events of our environment requesting that we do certain things. Divine instructions can be unusual and demanding…moving us out of our comfort zones but they lead to the birth of new exciting seasons. We need to be aware of the seasons of our lives else, they will slip away as it happened in the above Scripture. Kairos is not the voice of reason, it is the voice of Wisdom. Therefore, if it is what time generally gives everyone the opportunity to do then it will no more be a secret because it will be apparent to all. This is simply God’s way of giving us a fore knowledge of what to come so that we can step into the next level of our life.

When God through Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, the Red Sea parted once and for them alone…as the Egyptians pursued them. Moses was aware of  the season-the set time for the manifestation of purpose- obeyed divine instructions and Israel experienced that great miracle. It was a display of Kairos-a distinct season of life for a particular person or group. The Egyptians attempting the same act within the same Chronos (time),drowned.

Many people go through issues in life without the understanding that those issues are an indication of divine seasons. We must learn to seek out Kairos in our everyday life. The problem is that once we are stuck or faced with tough times, many of us do not re-trace our steps to God. We stay put, trying to solve the problem. This is wrong!

God is neither biased nor partial.  If you do not take a step forward, you are not going to see Him manifest.  And  if you are waiting for a more convenient  season, you may miss out on the Kairos He planned for you. God wants you to step into opportunities-seasons. But you must develop the ability to discern His voice amidst the storm!
